Nevada - Lidgerwood

CHILD CARE TRAINING FACILITY

The Nevada Lidgerwood Steering Committee has used Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to support an innovative program which provides training and other services for in-home daycare providers. The Family Child Care H.O.M.E. (Hands On Model Environment) is a project of the Northeast Child Care Task, a collaboration that includes Holy Family Hospital, Northwest Regional Facilitators, the Health Improvement Partnership, the Eastern Washington Family Daycare Association, the Early Childhood Education Department at Spokane Falls Community College, parents, businesses and community leaders.

Other CDBG funded projects of the Nevada Lidgerwood Steering Committee:

  • Addison Street bikeway
  • Sidewalk construction and reconstruction
  • Programs to provide public services for youth and seniors
  • Leadership training for citizen participation
  • Housing rehabilitation for program eligible single family homeowners
