SINTO SENIOR CENTER
The West Central Steering Committee has used Community
Development Block Grant funds for building improvements to the Sinto Senior Center,
located at 1124 W. Sinto. Projects have included remodeling of the basement to make room
for more activities and roof and dining room floor replacement.
In addition to the improvements to the senior center, the
Steering Committee has selected many other projects and programs for CDBG funding,
including:
- Sidewalk construction and reconstruction
- Tree plantings in the public right-of-ways
- Housing rehabilitation for program-eligible homeowners
- Public service support for youth programs
- Support for programs that provide emergency assistance for
those in need
- Cannon Park playground equipment
- Building improvements for West Central COPS (Community
Oriented Police Substation)
